I design, build and support Driftto on my own, and I do it in the open.

I am twenty-six. I have been designing since I was fourteen and writing code for the last eight years. At twenty I started a company, at twenty-five I sold it, and since then I work full time at an agency and build my own apps alongside it, in the open.

Driftto is the one I am building now. It exists because my own thoughts kept getting lost between apps: too many steps to write something down, so half of it never got written down at all.

Before I wrote a line of code I read 336 reviews of the app that promised this first, plus the reviews of five competitors and the field of 26 comparable apps. The most common complaint, thirteen years running, was that the note never arrived. Everything Driftto does about arrival statuses, retrying and never silently dropping a note comes out of that reading.
