If something didn’t arrive, start here. Most issues fix themselves once you know what to look for.

Check if it actually failed

Open Driftto and look at your history. Every capture shows what happened to it:

Sent

It arrived, named by destination. Email is the exception: it never reaches this line, even once it’s delivered. See Waiting to send below.

Waiting to send

It’s queued, usually because you were offline. It’ll go through once you’re back online. You don’t need to do anything.

Email works differently. It’s already sent, we can’t confirm it arrived, so this line can stay even after it’s sitting in your inbox.

Couldn’t send

It didn’t arrive. You’ll see which destination failed, and a way to try again.

“Try again” vs. “Reconnect”

These mean different things, and using the wrong one won’t help.

Try again

Appears after a temporary problem: a dropped connection, a slow network. Retrying usually works.

Reconnect

Appears when a destination has stopped accepting captures from us, usually because access was removed on the other end, in Notion or Reminders’ own settings. Retrying won’t fix this. Reconnecting will.

If a capture is gone

We don’t keep a copy of what you write once it’s delivered, or once 7 days have passed unresolved. That’s a deliberate choice, not a bug (see our privacy policy). If something is truly gone, we can’t retrieve it from our side. Check the destination itself. Reminders, Notion, and email each keep whatever successfully arrived.
